Our History

The Mark Keough is a full service employment advice and litigation attorney associated on an "of-counsel basis with the law firm of Taubman, Simpson, Young & Sulentor in Long Beach, California. Our office represents employees seeking redress for wrongful acts of employers as well as businesses desiring not only legally compliant employment policies and practices, but also an environment that fosters employee morale, loyalty and maximum productivity.

I have over 20 years of experience advising, implementing and administering employment practices in a complex corporate environment including employee relations, labor relations, compensation, equal opportunity employment, alternate dispute resolution, employee benefits and union-related matters.

Since entering private practice in 2002, we have successfully advised and represented hundreds of employee clients in all aspects of their employee rights. We emphasize pre-litigation settlement efforts including mediation and arbitration, representation before state and federal administrative agencies and litigation in both state and federal courts in California. In the first three years of private practice, my office recovered over $1,000,000 in judgments and settlements for our clients.

Mark Keough was admitted to practice law in California in 1983 after graduating from Western State University College of Law. He has a Masters in Business degree from Florida Atlantic University and an undergraduate degree from Duke University. He is fluent in Persian (Farsi) and is a member of the Los Angeles, Orange County and Long beach bar Associations.

Our Philosophy

We believe that justice in the work place serves both employers and employees.  Employers are in business to earn a profit, but they must do so through their people and in compliance with the law.  Access to the courts is always a last option when the parties cannot resolve the problem themselves.

We believe we can help employers to meet business objectives through development of human resource policies and procedures, employment contracts, non-solicitation and subcontractor agreements, and practical advice in preventing and resolving actual and potential disputes with employees. We believe we can serve employees by educating them on their rights and helping them realize them.  Our business clients include companies in the fields of medicine, recruitment, finance, manufacturing, accounting, labor unions, transportation and health care services.  Our employee clients include all the people who work in those companies.

We work with the small and large, in union and non-union environments, with executives, hourly workers and professional staff.

We also can help job seekers, employees or contractors and ex-employees know their legal rights and remedies whatever the given situation.
